"A team of researchers at Washington University in St. Louis has developed a real-time air monitor that can detect any of the SARS-CoV-2 virus variants that are present in a room in about 5 minutes.
The proof-of-concept device was created by researchers from the McKelvey School of Engineering and the School of Medicine at Washington University...
The results are contained in a July 10 publication in Nature Communications that provides details about how the technology works.
The device holds promise as a breakthrough that - when commercially available - could be used in hospitals and health care facilities, schools, congregate living quarters, and other public places to help detect not only the SARS-CoV-2 virus, but other respiratory virus aerosol such as influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) as well.
“There is nothing at the moment that tells us how safe a room is,” Cirrito said, in the university’s news release. “If you are in a room with 100 people, you don’t want to find out five days later whether you could be sick or not. The idea with this device is that you can know essentially in real time, or every 5 minutes, if there is a live virus in the air.”
How It Works
The team combined expertise in biosensing with knowhow in designing instruments that measure the toxicity of air. The resulting device is an air sampler that operates based on what’s called “wet cyclone technology.” Air is sucked into the sampler at very high speeds and is then mixed centrifugally with a fluid containing a nanobody that recognizes the spike protein from the SARS-CoV-2 virus. That fluid, which lines the walls of the sampler, creates a surface vortex that traps the virus aerosols. The wet cyclone sampler has a pump that collects the fluid and sends it to the biosensor for detection of the virus using electrochemistry.
The success of the instrument is linked to the extremely high velocity it generates - the monitor has a flow rate of about 1,000 liters per minute - allowing it to sample a much larger volume of air over a 5-minute collection period than what is possible with currently available commercial samplers. It’s also compact - about one foot wide and 10 inches tall - and lights up when a virus is detected, alerting users to increase airflow or circulation in the room.
Testing the Monitor
To test the monitor, the team placed it in the apartments of two Covid-positive patients. The real-time air samples from the bedrooms were then compared with air samples collected from a virus-free control room. The device detected the RNA of the virus in the air samples from the bedrooms but did not detect any in the control air samples.
In laboratory experiments that aerosolized SARS-CoV-2 into a room-sized chamber, the wet cyclone and biosensor were able to detect varying levels of airborne virus concentrations after only a few minutes of sampling, according to the study.
“We are starting with SARS-CoV-2, but there are plans to also measure influenza, RSV, rhinovirus and other top pathogens that routinely infect people,” Cirrito said. “In a hospital setting, the monitor could be used to measure for staph or strep, which cause all kinds of complications for patients. This could really have a major impact on people’s health.”
The Washington University team is now working to commercialize the air quality monitor."

Holy shit. I know it's still early in the technology and more testing will inevitably be needed but holy shit.
Literally, if it bears out, this could revolutionize medicine. And maybe let immunocompromised people fucking go places again
Also, for those who don't know, Nature Communications is a very prestigious scientific journal that focuses on Pretty Big Deal research. Their review process is incredibly rigorous. This is an absolutely HUGE credibility boost to this research and prototype

GHOSTING THE GOVERNMENT
|masterpost| ao3
Chap 1: A Not-so-Ghostly Getaway
PT 3
The initial adrenaline of the outpost encounter slowly bled out, replaced by a dull hum of unease. Jazz kept her speed steady, just a hair under the limit, watching the rearview mirror like a hawk for any tell-tale signs of pursuit. Inside the van, the atmosphere was a mix of quiet tension and calculated planning. Danny and Sam had settled back into their "sleeping" positions whenever a car approached, a practiced ease to their stillness.
"Anyone else getting hungry?" Sam mumbled, finally breaking the silence a good half-hour later. Without waiting for an answer, she began rummaging through the cooler in the back, a rustle of bags and a soft clinking of cans. Soon, she was handing out an assortment of chips, granola bars, and juice boxes. The mundane act of eating provided a small, welcome distraction.
Another two hours and forty-five minutes crawled by before the gas light flickered on, a silent cue. Jazz spotted a brightly lit truck stop a few miles ahead, a sprawling oasis of neon signs and late-night travelers. She pulled in slowly, parking near the far end of the lot, away from the main flow of traffic.
"Alright, operation 'find the bug' is a go," Jazz announced, grabbing the keys. Danny and Tucker were already out of their seats, moving with purpose. Sam, ever practical, pulled out a small, high-powered flashlight.
They fanned out around the van, Jazz opening the hood as a diversion, while Danny and Tucker knelt down, peering underneath with the flashlight. It didn't take long. "Gotcha!" Tucker hissed, his voice a low, triumphant whisper.
Tucked discreetly into the wheel well, almost camouflaged against the dark undercarriage, was a small, oblong device. It was about the size of a thumb drive, sleek and white, with a smooth, shiny surface. A tiny, almost imperceptible red light pulsed faintly, indicating its active status. Two strong magnetic strips were clearly visible on one side, allowing it to adhere firmly to the metal. There were no visible wires or antennae, just a seamless, self-contained unit designed for stealth and durability. Danny carefully nudged it with a gloved finger, confirming its magnetic grip.
"Looks like a standard GIW model," Tucker murmured, pulling out a specialized scanner. "Encrypted, but nothing we can't handle... later."
They left it in place, as agreed, a silent passenger in their otherwise quiet escape, waiting for the perfect moment to sever their invisible tether.
Having found the tracker, they pulled the car up to a pump and ensued standard gas station activities; pumping gas, buying snacks, and using the restroom while they had the time.
Once they were all piled back into the car and back on the road, everyone besides Jazz, who was still driving, checked the weather forecasts and locations they could dispose of the tiny infernal, intrusive device.
"Weather for the next couple hours is clear." Sam said, mildly disappointed. "There are car washes along our route, but...." Tucker trailed off.
"What's up, man?" Danny asked twisting to face the other boy. Tucker sighed, "The car isn't in need of a wash, and the GIW would be aware of that."
Danny smiled, "So let's make a reason! Sam, do you know of any off-road or scenic routes on our way?"
"Well, there is a national park a few hours ahead. Would that work?" She replied, searching through 2F maps. Over the past couple of years, Tucker had started naming his projects under the umbrella term of Too-Fine or 2F.
"Perfect," Danny answered, unclipping Jazz’s phone from the holder and adding the park to the route, "Let's get this car dirty."

Jason wasn’t sure which was worse—having the Batfamily freak out over his ghost powers, or dealing with the relentless ghost hunter currently trying to blast a hole through his chest.
"Come, whelp!" Skulker’s mechanical voice boomed through the Gotham skyline. The massive specter hovered above a rooftop in his signature battle suit, a glowing net launcher primed at Jason. "Face me like a true warrior!"
Jason, still in his ghost form, stood at the edge of the adjacent building, spinning one of his pistols in his hand. “Man, I don’t know how to break this to you, Big Ugly, but I don’t do the whole ‘damsel in distress’ thing.”
Skulker snarled, raising his weapon. "You are an abomination! A creature neither truly alive nor truly dead! I will mount your pelt upon my wall as a trophy!"
Jason sighed, shaking his head. “Yeah, okay, that’s so not happening.”
Without warning, Skulker fired. A crackling green net shot toward him at high speed, but Jason was already moving. His form flickered, and in an instant, he phased through the attack, letting it pass harmlessly through where he’d been standing.
"You're gonna have to try harder than that," Jason taunted, landing on a nearby fire escape.
Skulker snarled and activated his shoulder-mounted cannons. "You will not escape me, whelp!"
Jason smirked. Oh, buddy, I ain’t running.
Reaching into his holsters, he pulled out his twin pistols, but instead of regular bullets, a cold, eerie green glow spread through the metal, crackling with ghostly energy. The barrels hummed with power, and Jason felt the familiar thrum of ectoplasm mixing with gunpowder.
Skulker hesitated for just a moment.
"What is that—"
Jason pulled the triggers.
Twin bursts of green energy exploded from the barrels, cutting through the night like streaks of lightning. Skulker barely had time to dodge, but one shot grazed his shoulder, sending a violent shockwave through his armor.
Sparks flew, and the mechanical suit groaned in protest.
"What—?" Skulker stumbled back, clutching his arm. "That hurt!"
Jason grinned. "Yeah, turns out when you mix ghost energy with high-velocity lead, you get some nasty results." He twirled one of his guns. "I call ‘em Ecto Rounds."
Skulker’s glowing green eyes narrowed. "You—"
Jason didn’t give him the chance to finish. He moved like a blur, zipping across the rooftop in an inhuman burst of speed. Before Skulker could react, Jason appeared at his flank, pressing the barrel of his gun right against the ghost’s head.
"Here’s the thing, big guy," Jason murmured, voice low and lethal. "You’re used to hunting ghosts. You ain’t used to hunting me."
Skulker growled, but Jason could see the hesitation in his eyes now.
Jason smirked. "I ain’t prey." He cocked his gun. "I’m the one that shoots back."
Before Jason could pull the trigger, a Batarang whizzed through the air, knocking his gun aside.
Jason blinked. "What the—?"
From the shadows, Batman himself emerged, his cape billowing in the wind. His expression was unreadable, but his eyes held that familiar Bruce Wayne Disapproval™ look.
“Enough.”
Jason scowled. “Are you kidding me right now? I was handling it!”
Bruce ignored him, instead focusing on Skulker, who took the distraction as his cue to retreat. "This is not over, whelp!" Skulker snarled before activating his cloaking device and vanishing into the night.
Jason cursed under his breath.
"Damn it."
Bruce folded his arms. “You infused your weapons with ectoplasmic energy.”
Jason twirled his pistol before holstering it. “Yeah. And?”
Bruce’s expression didn’t change. “You modified your guns to be lethal against ghosts.”
Jason crossed his arms. “Again, yeah. Problem?”
Bruce studied him for a moment before sighing. “…No.”
Jason blinked. “…Wait, what?”
“I said no,” Bruce repeated. “You’ve developed your own combat style, one that accounts for your unique abilities. That’s good.” He glanced toward where Skulker had vanished. “But you’re also drawing attention. More ghosts will come.”
Jason rolled his eyes. “When do they not?”
Bruce looked back at him. “I won’t tell you to stop. But I will tell you to be careful.”
Jason raised an eyebrow. “…That’s it? No lecture?”
Bruce gave him a flat look. "Would you listen?"
Jason considered it. “…Fair point.”
Bruce turned away, heading back toward the Batcave. “Come on. You’ll want to analyze that ecto-tech Skulker was using.”
Jason hesitated for a second before following. He couldn’t help the smirk that tugged at his lips.
Maybe—just maybe—being the Red Ghost wasn’t so bad after all.

I remade the trailer to Robot Monster, to serve as a trailer for a hypothetical remake of... you guessed it, Robot Monster.
Destruction has come, hu-mans, and its silliness will not protect you.
My thoughts and how-to process blog post under the fold.
I made Robot Monster's Trailer Remake primarily with Vidu and with Midjourney.
For most shots I started with a photoshopped midjourney gen (or stack of them), which was used either as a prompt image or starting frame.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some shots, like the earthquake, were done with start-and-end frames.
Vidu has some quirks for my Roland Emmerich Christ-the-Redeemer shot. I attempted the image several times as a direct image as start frame, but it would reset to a new camera angle each time, rebelling against my inaccurate version:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the AI could recognize the statue, but not it being in inaccurate surroundings. I eventually used it as a prompt and not a start frame got a good enough shot.
I tended to go for 8-second shots on quality mode, to give me more to cut around and edit. Almost no shots play without some cropping, speed adjustments or other edits in this, and anyone using AI for a larger project is going to find much the same.
While 90% of the shots are from Vidu a few I used Hailuo's Minmax to accomplish. Mainly things like a few low-motion Ro-man talking shots, the computer-communication device, and the motion title card for "electrifying", etc.
Vidu likes to move, a lot, and for stuff that needs subtle movement I sometimes find it helps to mix things up.
Tumblr media
I've found that when image prompting for a character, like Ro-Alice, it sometimes helps to do a fullbody and portrait two-for-one. This helps keep the character design consistent, and you can kinda tell which Ro-Man shots I made before I figured this trick out.
I also reused shots of the dinosaurs from my other AI video projects for meta reasons.
Right now it doesn't make videos so much as it makes shots you can weave into videos.
I'm actually impressed at how well it understood the concept of Ro-Man, only giving him a full ape face or a weird tail or the like a couple of times.
My general approach to the concept was "What if you kept the premise the same but had a budget." Whereas in reality you'd never actually get that combo, since if they had money, they wouldn't have made Robot Monster.
It also let me play with a fanon idea I've had for awhile that the Ro-Men were the helmets, and the ape-creature was some biological organism used as a conveyance.
For the audio, I took the audio to the trailer and used Suno's cover-features to both clean up the sound and change the musical style. The back half of the original track was completely warped by the cover process, but I used another bit of trailer-style music to cover that bit, and to extend for the longer ending shot, since my version of the trailer is about 20 seconds longer than the original.
Some prompts utilized:
in a sci-fi lab in a cave, a furry alien monster wearing a spherical helmet with reflective faceplate walks around aubrey plaza in a white sleeveless slip-dress and dark pantyhose in a glass tube, the tube pulses with green light. She is in a glass cylinder, he is walking around it, with curiosity. The scene is menacing, slow movement, pensive. horror movie scene, the tone is tense and frightening. professional lighting and cinematography. Oscar winning, 2003, practical lighting, effects, and costuming.
the robot spider-robots with spherical heads walk around as though searching for something. horror movie scene, the tone is tense and frightening. professional lighting and cinematography. Oscar winning, 2003, practical lighting, effects, and costuming.
the alien ape-creature wearing a space helmet (the robot monster), in a modern city. He throws green lightning from his hand, disintegrating a policeman into ash. Monster-movie sci-fi scene, dramatic camera angles and lighting. Practical costuming and special effects. High budget and high concept.
slow motion fly-through footage, the air is full of slow-moving glowing bubbles. green electric sparks arc from one bubble to the next producing an ominous mood. The scene conveys spreading menace and fear. One long, unbroken shot. filmed on location, effects by weta digital, ILM, stan winston studios, believable and hyper-realistic. Shot on location. trailer shot. high-speed film
All-in-all, a fun project, and one that came along when I really, really, really needed something to concentrate on for long stretches of time.
Make something fun, folks.

LIMITATIONS
Canine Phenotypic Shift Cognitive Decline: Upon full transformation into canine morphology, higher-order executive functions and complex tactical reasoning are significantly impaired, resulting in reliance on instinctual behaviors that may hinder mission-specific objectives.
Verbal Communication Restriction: In canine form, expressive communication is limited to nonverbal signaling and basic command comprehension, thereby reducing effective real-time coordination with human operatives. To mitigate this, a custom-engineered neural-linked collar—designated Vox-Halo Unit 7—has been implemented.
Sensory Modality Vulnerability: Exposure to extreme environmental factors such as hyperthermia or toxic chemical agents attenuates olfactory and other heightened sensory functions, diminishing tracking and detection capacity.
Physical Trauma Susceptibility: Despite augmented regenerative and endurance capabilities, Shepherd remains vulnerable to high-impact ballistic trauma and sustained blunt force injuries, which transiently impair operational effectiveness.
Engagement Range Limitation: Combat proficiency is primarily restricted to close-quarters; proficiency with ranged weaponry is suboptimal, necessitating support elements for medium to long-range threat neutralization.
Cognitive-Identity Disassociation: Prolonged duration in canine form or repeated canine-hominid identity shifts may precipitate episodes of cognitive disorientation or temporary loss of self-awareness, compromising operational reliability.
Cybernetic Maintenance Dependency: Enhanced physical and sensory augmentations require scheduled recalibration and maintenance; operational degradation occurs in the absence of routine servicing or if systems are compromised.
Infiltration Countermeasure Sensitivity: Although adept in unconventional infiltration, Shepherd’s biological and sensory enhancements are susceptible to detection by advanced biometric and bio-signature surveillance technologies.
Manual Dexterity Deficiency: The canine anatomical form imposes significant limitations on fine motor skills, restricting capability for complex tool manipulation, technical sabotage, or field repairs.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I finished digesting Worm, and as I'm about to head into Ward, I was struck with yet another bolt of shitty inspiration, so. Endbringer OCs. Not 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 Endbringers, rather, Parahumans who Triggered during Endbringer attacks. They're in Heroforge because I can't draw, and they're so simple because that was part of the inspiration, try making the basic animal bodies look unique. Think I failed at the second part, but, eh. Anyway, in order:
Pluto(Behemoth, 1996 Cologne attack)
Neptune(Leviathan, 2000 Naples attack)
Jupiter(The Simurgh, 2009 Madison attack)
I don't really have a story for them fully plotted, and they're all from different Earth Bets, not the same. They do eventually form a group, working name is "E-LITEs"(Endbringer Lite is something all of them have been called during their Cape careers)
Pluto:
Real Name: Aaron Steele
Age: 56
Height: 0.914m
Gender: CisMasc
Sexuality: Gay
Pronouns: He/Him
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Classification: Tinker 7/Shaker 6, Blaster 7, Brute 7
Tinker Specialty: Subterranean Tech
Can create defensive shielding to protect from the heat and pressure at depths of slightly beyond 12,000m.
His Dual Trigger allowed him to reverse this specialty as well, creating weapons designed to turn these effects on others.
His main body, pictured here, is durable enough to take blows from high-tier Brutes, strong enough to smash through most non-Tinker alloys with little issue, and carries an arsenal including, but not limited to:
Flamethrower
Grenades, Incendiary and Force
Seismic Radiator(miniaturized earthquake device)
More dexterous, smaller limbs at various points
Neptune:
Real Name: Claudia Marin
Age: 28
Length: 1.219m
Gender: Nonbinary
Sexuality: Bisexual
Pronouns: It/Its
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Classification: Breaker 6/Shaker 7, Mover 7, Stranger 6
Powers:
Can shift body into water or mist, but Shard lets it work better with the latter.
Once in this state, can expand consciousness into up to 100ft of surrounding water/water vapor to take control of it, and remanifest body from anywhere within.
Can only be/take control of one state of matter at a time, no mixing the two.
Can also technically produce water/mist beyond Breaker state, but at such a low rate it's functionally useless as a combat power.
Jupiter:
Real Name: Harper Pfeiffer
Age: 14
Height/Length: 1.524m/1.829m
Gender: CisFem
Sexuality: Lesbian
Pronouns: She/Her
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Classification: Master 8/Shaker 6, Mover 6, Thinker 4, Stranger 4
Powers:
Raptor Physiology: While not her main power, her body allows for high-speed running, up to 30MPH, and enhanced jumping/gliding, aided by her feathers. The trade-off for this is hollow bones, making her much more fragile.
Enhanced Hearing: Jupiter can hear noises inaudible to normal Human ears, able to eavesdrop on conversations in apartments 10 stories up, for example, or picture-perfect echolocation.
Audiokinesis: While she can do the classic "Sonic Boom" attack, it's actually rather painful and not her preferred style. Instead, Jupiter uses more subtle methods. Constant, passive sounds just barely audible to Humans, making them more susceptible to her commands. She can't psionically direct them, but she does hold a spot of importance in their minds very hard to override. The process usually only takes a few hours of exposure, most often done at night, but if pressured, Jupiter can accelerate the conditioning to shorter and shorter times at the cost of more functionality lost. Also, she usually emits a passive sound-muffling effect/radar scrambler. While not especially helpful with how distinctive her physiology is, this practice has allowed her to ambush many victims when combined with her aforementioned mobility.

I don't know if anyone is writing about boats right now, but but I've seen the terminology get mixed up a lot so...
Helm: Were the driver sits, were the wheel and accelerator is located Port board: If your sitting at the the helm, the port side is on your left. Star board: If your sitting at the helm, its on your right side. Bow: The front most part of the boat Prow: sometimes used to mean the same thing as bow, but in some cases this specifically refers to portion of the bow visible above the waterline. Aftward: To approach the stern of a boat is to move aftward. Gunwale: Upper rim of a ships hull
Stern: rear end of the boat, the flat end specifically is called a transom Hull: Main body and underside of a boat. Planing hull: Hulls that are designed to glide across the water and hydroplane at high enough speeds. They tend to be some of the fastest boats, at the price of lower maneuverability, fuel efficiency and stability on rough water. Displacement hull: Below water at all times. More stable and fuel efficient than planing hulls and have higher carrier capacity, tend to be slower than planing hulls.
MSD: Marine Sanitation Device. Used to process blackwater onboard, they come in three types
Tumblr media
Gray Water: Water from sinks, washing machines, showers and appliances. Disposal and dumping laws vary heavily between states. Black Water: Sewage and waste water. Emptying onboard sewage tanks in fresh water (Lakes, rivers, etc) is illegal in the United States, emptying sewage in salt water is only okay if the boat is at least three miles from the shoreline. Many marinas also have pump out stations and boats were the sewage tank can be emptied out with a hose
youtube
Bilge: lowest part of the boat that partially fills with water when submerged. Bilge water release and intake is regulated to avoid transferring invasive species between water bodies (Zebra Mussels in the great lakes are one example)
Ballast: Heavy material in the bilge used to stabilize the boat. During WWII, some American battleships used the rubble from war zones as ballast. Keel: The stabilization ridge on the underside of the hull.

One of the neat consequences of the design of the language I'm working on with operatives instead of macros and a modular categorical semantics, is that everything that would be a keyword or special operator in other languages can be an operative in ours, which means they can be replaced and changed and modified in user code. This means that in this language the problem of two different dependencies of the same project wanting to use different versions of the language reduces to the problem of different dependencies wanting to use different libraries, and no system of complicated features pragmas or standard command line arguments that grow and grow and grow over time is necessary. Instead we can just have different versions of the syntax as ordinary libraries, versioned, polyfilled, dependency injected. Similarly, the formally meaningful modular semantics system means that we can add and remove features without that being a global decision; an old library that uses an old semantics can be transported to a new semantics by a functor, and we can prove that the functor implements all the axioms of the original semantics in terms of the new semantics, and then the old library will work just like a native library on the new semantics, with all its types, code, proofs and properties available for use and to the optimizer. A library written next year and proven correct should still run correctly in 300 years with no maintenance specific to that library. The compiler will of course need maintenance to keep it running on new hardware generations and adopt new technology.
But this isn't just a speculative future thing. Right now, modular semantics are useful in writing a project that works on multiple targets. For example, it might be useful to write a library that does some math which can work when compiled to JavaScript, wasm, or native. These targets have huge differences between them, but with modular semantics it's possible to just write using the minimal set of primitives needed, working from abstract high level collection data structures and math operations, and then any project that works in a specific system can just request a version of your package transported to their system, and all the high level data structures and properties will be filled in with whatever their platform uses to interop at full native speed. This also works in reverse; code that runs in a webpage using webgpu can have different primitives available based on which device they will run on, and not only share common libraries and types between them but also use target specific features like garbage collection or warp level parallel operators, even if the code is mixed in a single file to collect both facets of the implementation of a specific feature, and the compiler will give a nice type error if one of them gets used in the wrong place.

Your Guide to the Most In-Demand Underhook Lifting Devices on the Market
The construction industry is evolving fast, and so are the tools that keep it moving. When it comes to crane operations, efficiency and safety go hand in hand. And right at the heart of that sweet spot? Underhook lifting devices.
These aren’t just metal attachments. They’re the unsung heroes that allow cranes to handle all kinds of materials with precision, balance, and speed. If you’re managing a construction site, rigging loads, or coordinating logistics on a tower crane, you know that the right lifting device can save time, prevent injuries, and help you meet tight deadlines.
But with so many options on the market in 2025, which devices are making the biggest impact?
Let’s walk through the most in-demand underhook lifting devices that are showing up on job sites across North America—and why they’re worth the investment.
What Makes a Lifting Device “In-Demand”?
Not every tool that hooks to a crane makes it to the top of the industry’s go-to list. The devices we’re featuring today share three major qualities:
Versatility: They can be used across different load types and job conditions.
Safety Features: Built-in mechanisms to prevent tipping, swaying, or failed releases.
Proven Performance: Field-tested with consistent reliability and great operator feedback.
Whether you're lifting construction materials on a high-rise, moving loose debris, or transferring fuel tanks, these are the tools everyone’s asking for.
Tumblr media
Self-Dumping Bins: Hands-Free Load Management
Let’s kick it off with one of the most practical and popular tools out there—self-dumping bins. Designed to simplify and speed up debris handling, these bins are perfect for clearing waste, transporting heavy loose material, or moving around demolition debris without manual unloading.
Why it’s in demand:
Auto-release mechanism for quick, hands-free dumping.
Rugged steel construction for long-term jobsite use.
Reduces the need for labor-intensive manual handling.
Self-dumping bins are especially useful on busy, multi-level construction zones where time and mobility are at a premium.
Concrete Buckets: Precision Meets Power
Pouring concrete on a high-rise isn’t like filling a backyard patio form. You need accuracy, control, and elevation reach—and that’s where modern concrete buckets come in.
These lifting devices are designed for vertical lifts and are often used with tower cranes to deliver ready-mix concrete directly to forms.
Why it’s in demand:
Equipped with discharge gates or valves for controlled pours.
Available in various capacities for different project scales.
Reduces waste and splash when pouring in hard-to-reach spots.
They’re a staple on every large-scale commercial or residential construction project involving vertical concrete work.
Adjustable Pallet Forks: The Multi-Tasker
No list is complete without adjustable pallet forks. In 2025, these tools will be more advanced than ever. With features like self-leveling, adjustable tine spacing, and integrated safety locks, these forks are no longer just for pallets—they’re for everything.
Why it’s in demand:
Self-balancing forks maintain level loads throughout the lift.
Great for lifting bundled rebar, lumber, block, HVAC units, and more.
Adjustable settings allow operators to switch load types with ease.
This tool offers unbeatable flexibility, making it one of the most used crane lifting devices in both commercial and industrial construction.
Propane Bottle Carriers: Lifting with Confidence
Working with propane on-site? Safety takes center stage. That’s why propane bottle carriers have become a must-have lifting device, especially on job sites that rely on gas-powered heaters, forklifts, or equipment.
Why it’s in demand:
Secure containment for multiple bottles in vertical or horizontal orientation.
Prevents tanks from shifting or falling during lifts.
Speeds up fuel delivery to upper floors or remote zones.
Their rugged, purpose-built design takes the worry out of transporting compressed gas cylinders across unpredictable terrain or through multi-level sites.
Spreader Bars: Load Distribution, Done Right
When lifting large, flexible, or awkward loads, spreader bars (also called lifting beams) distribute weight more evenly across multiple pick points. This reduces stress on both the load and the rigging hardware.
Why it’s in demand:
Minimizes bending and load damage.
Ensures a level lift, even for off-center loads.
Crucial for wide panels, structural steel, and prefab components.
This category of crane lifting devices is often customized to meet specific load configurations and weight distribution needs, especially on engineered lift plans.
Underhook Attachments with Built-in Tech
Welcome to the future. Some of the latest underhook lifting devices aren’t just steel—they’re smart. Tools now come with sensors, load monitoring, and even Bluetooth connectivity for real-time tracking.
Why it’s in demand:
Monitors load weights to avoid overloading.
Sends alerts if lifting angles are incorrect.
Can be integrated with anti-collision and zone control systems.
These tech-forward accessories are especially valued in high-density job sites where safety automation is becoming standard protocol.
Choosing the Right Device for Your Job
With so many choices, how do you know what to use?
Here’s a quick breakdown:
Project Type
Recommended Device
High-rise vertical concrete work
Concrete Buckets
Demolition and debris removal
Self-Dumping Bins
Modular or prefabricated builds
Spreader Bars
Fuel or propane transport
Propane Bottle Carriers
General material transport
Adjustable Pallet Forks
Complex lift plans
Smart Underhook Devices
Every job is different, and the wrong tool can slow you down or compromise safety. That’s why working with a trusted supplier like Bigfoot Crane Company helps ensure your crane lifting devices are tailored to your specific project scope and environment.
Final Thoughts: Invest in the Right Tools to Lift Smarter
In a world where efficiency and safety are more connected than ever, having the right underhook lifting devices isn’t just about convenience—it’s about setting your crew up for success.
With the right tools beneath the hook, you’ll experience smoother operations, better project timelines, and a safer jobsite—all while extending the life of your crane equipment. Because let’s face it: you wouldn’t use the wrong wrench for a critical bolt. So why settle for the wrong lifting gear for a multimillion-dollar build?

Creation x Jet for a quirk marriage?
New Quirk Name: Blast Out
This Transformation type Quirk allows the user to form a variety of methods of propulsion from their body. These methods are quite powerful and have their own advantages, like making a rocket on their back for high speed. These can be made at any point and of various sizes, like making small propellers on their feet to fly. This gives the user a good mix of offense and mobility, able to maximize their movement with their various methods of propulsion. They can hover around with bursts of air, block attacks with propels, augment their physical attacks with jet turbines, blast people back with water jets, or simply escape trouble with a jet pack. Though the user is limited in what they can make and will need some practice with how they control them. They will need to burn fat in order to fuel the various devices they make, especially for bigger and more powerful ones, potentially burning them out if they over use it.

❄️ About Yuki / Cure Nyammy
Tumblr media
Don't ever apologize to me! You're fine as you are. You can't ignore someone in trouble. Stay your kind self! If your kindness will get you hurt, I'm the one who will protect you!!
Name: Nekoyashiki Yuki
Cure Identity: Cure Nyammy (Wonderful Precure team alongside Cure Wonderful, Cure Friendy and Cure Lillian)
Main Theme / Color: Cats / Blue and White
Age: She's a domestic cat. Her human appearance resembles someone around 14~15 years old.
Gender: Female (She/Her).
Birthday: Still unknown.
Nekoyashiki Yuki is a main character of Wonderful Precure. She is the third Precure to be introduced and also the second official Precure in the franchise that is not human and belongs to the Human World.
Yuki is a mixed breed white cat and her current owner is Nekoyashiki Mayu. Originally a stray cat from a Mountain Village outside Animal Town, she was found by Mayu living under an abandoned house. It's unknown if she was abandoned or if she was born a feral cat. She initially lived alone and disliked being touched by humans, acting very careful around others. However, the girl's kindness eventually reached her and Yuki decided to follow her.
She lived in Koizumi Gakuen before moving to Animal Town. Yuki cares a lot for Mayu and worries when she starts getting scared of doing things and socializing with others. Mayu always looks for her when she starts getting scared and wants some encouragement. Yuki doesn't like when Mayu touches her a lot, but she understands when she really needs it. However, this doesn't prevent a few scratches from reaching Mayu sometimes...
She meets Iroha and Komugi and got really happy when Mayu befriended Iroha. She doesn't like Komugi and finds her very annoying, since Yuki prefers being on her own and Komugi doesn't respect her personal space. Her favorite spot is a place in front of Pretty Holic store and she can be seen taking naps there all the time. When she is in a good mood, she likes being scratched on her head. If she doesn't want being touched, she will hiss at you and scratch if you come close. As a cat, she is very intelligent, agile, she can jump very high and squeeze into narrow spaces. She easily sneaks out her house when needed. She usually rests by the window of Mayu's room, watching everything that happens outside.
Eventually she discovers that Komugi can turn into a human and, sometime later, she herself got the ability of turning into one after learning about the threat posed by the GaruGaru. Scared they could hurt Mayu, Yuki decided to hunt them alone as a Pretty Cure in order to protect her.
Thanks to the power of the Mirror Stone, Yuki can turn into a human and understand human language. She can speak human language even in her cat form. She keeps her transformation device hidden in the brooch of her collar. She can easily feel the presence of a GaruGaru, even if its far away.
Tumblr media
A noble, cute and sparkling world! Cure Nyammy! Fine, I'll pay attention to you!
By using the Shiny Cats Pact and shouting "Pretty Cure! My Evolution!!", Yuki is able to turn into Cure Nyammy. All her physical attributes, resistances and speed are enhanced in this form. She can lift a powerful shield to protect herself from attacks and even use it to push enemies away. She uses a different approach when dealing with GaruGarus, attacking them with powerful kicks and slashes. Her main weapon is the Amity Ribbon Tambourine. She can use it with Cure Lillian to perform a powerful attack called Amity Lumiere.
Verses:
Cure Nyammy verse: Tagged as x-snow-guardian-x. It follows the main story of Wonderful Precure. Currently, Nyammy prefers working alone to protect Mayu from the dangers the GaruGaru pose to Animal Town. She still can't purify them and fights them using physical attacks.
More info will be added later as the series progresses!!

How Are DJs Using Live Streaming Equipment to Engage Audiences Online?
In today’s digital-first world, live streaming has become a game-changer for DJs. What started as a niche medium for gamers and vloggers has now grown into a thriving platform for music creators to connect with audiences worldwide. For DJs, live streaming offers an exciting way to share their craft, build a loyal following, and even turn a living room into a virtual dance floor. But how are they using live streaming equipment to make it all happen? Let’s dive into how DJs are taking advantage of this technology to captivate and engage audiences like never before.
Why Live Streaming?
Before we get into the equipment, let’s talk about why live streaming has become so popular among DJs. First off, it’s accessible. Platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and Instagram Live make it easy to reach a global audience without the need for physical venues. This is particularly important in today’s world, where travel restrictions and social distancing have changed the way we experience live music.
Live streaming also allows DJs to create a direct, unfiltered connection with their fans. Unlike traditional gigs, where the DJ is often physically separated from the crowd, live streaming brings the artist and audience closer together. Viewers can send real-time comments, song requests, or simply vibe along—making the experience feel personal and interactive.
Tumblr media
For DJs, the possibilities are endless. They can use live streaming to host virtual parties, showcase their latest mixes, or even teach DJing techniques. It’s not just about playing music; it’s about creating a full-on experience that keeps people coming back for more.
Essential Live Streaming Equipment for DJs
To pull off a successful live stream, having the right equipment is crucial. Here’s what most DJs rely on:
Audio Interface: High-quality sound is non-negotiable. DJs use an audio interface to capture and transmit their music to the streaming platform without any loss in quality. This device ensures that the beats hit just as hard online as they would in person.
Cameras: A decent camera setup can make a world of difference. Many DJs opt for multiple cameras to capture dynamic angles, like close-ups of their hands on the decks or wide shots of their studio setup. A crisp, well-lit video helps create a professional and engaging stream.
Lighting: Lighting sets the mood. DJs often use LED lights, strobes, or even a simple ring light to add a visually appealing vibe to their streams. This enhances the overall experience, making it feel more like a live show and less like a Zoom call.
Streaming Software: Platforms like OBS Studio or Streamlabs are popular choices for live streaming. These tools allow DJs to mix audio, switch camera angles, and even add on-screen effects or overlays, like their logo or song titles.
Microphones: While the music is the main event, a good microphone allows DJs to interact with their audience. Whether it’s introducing a track or answering a viewer’s question, clear audio makes the interaction feel genuine and personal.
Stable Internet Connection: No matter how great your setup is, a poor internet connection can ruin the experience. DJs typically ensure they have a stable, high-speed connection to avoid buffering or interruptions.
When purchasing live streaming equipment, it’s always a good idea to shop from reputable audio shops that specialize in professional gear. Not only do they offer reliable products, but they can also provide expert advice tailored to your needs.
Engaging the Audience During a Live Stream
Live streaming is about more than just playing tracks. To truly engage viewers, DJs use a variety of strategies:
Real-Time Interaction: Responding to viewer comments and shoutouts helps create a sense of community. DJs can take song requests, answer questions, or simply chat with their audience between sets.
Visual Effects: Adding visual effects, like dynamic lighting or on-screen animations, keeps the stream visually stimulating. Many DJs even use green screens to create virtual stages or backdrops.
Unique Themes: Themed live streams—like a throwback night or a genre-specific session—can attract niche audiences. A retro 80s disco night, for example, could bring together fans of that era’s music.
Collaborations: Teaming up with other artists or DJs can help expand reach and bring fresh energy to the stream. Joint performances or DJ battles are especially popular and fun to watch.
Behind-the-Scenes Content: Viewers love getting a glimpse into the DJ’s world. Sharing behind-the-scenes moments, like setting up equipment or creating a new mix, makes the experience feel more intimate and authentic.
The Benefits of Live Streaming for DJs
The benefits of live streaming go beyond just connecting with audiences. Here’s how it helps DJs grow:
Global Reach: Unlike a physical event, live streaming allows DJs to reach fans from all corners of the world. It’s a great way to build an international following without leaving home.
Monetization Opportunities: Many platforms offer ways to earn money through live streaming, such as tips, subscriptions, or sponsorships. Some DJs even use their streams to promote their merch or upcoming projects.
Creative Freedom: Without the constraints of a physical venue, DJs have more control over their sets. They can experiment with new styles, mixes, or even incorporate live instruments into their performances.
Brand Building: A well-executed live stream can enhance a DJ’s brand. Consistent, high-quality streams help establish them as professionals in the industry and keep their name on fans’ minds.
Challenges to Consider
While live streaming has plenty of perks, it’s not without its challenges. Technical issues, like audio syncing problems or sudden internet drops, can disrupt the flow. There’s also the challenge of standing out in an increasingly crowded space. With so many DJs live streaming, it’s essential to find ways to be unique and memorable.
Additionally, creating high-quality streams requires an initial investment in equipment, which can be costly for beginners. However, many DJs find that it’s a worthwhile investment in the long run, especially if they’re serious about growing their audience and career.
Live streaming has opened up a whole new world for DJs, offering endless opportunities to engage with audiences and share their music. By investing in the right equipment and creating unique, interactive experiences, DJs can turn casual viewers into loyal fans. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, live streaming is a powerful tool for taking your DJing game to the next level.
For those looking to get started, remember that quality equipment makes all the difference. Consider purchasing from reputable audio shops like VIP PRO AUDIO , as they’ll help you find gear that suits your needs and ensures a professional, seamless experience.
As live streaming continues to evolve, it’s exciting to think about what’s next for the world of music. One thing’s for sure: the DJ booth isn’t just in clubs anymore. It’s everywhere, and it’s online.
